ABOUT ME
Christine Weeber is the author of two poetry chapbooks: In the Understory of Her Being and Sastrugi. Her poetry and prose have appeared in the Wild Roof Journal, Wild Gods: The Ecstatic in Contemporary Poetry and Prose, the Kyoto Journal, Solo: On Her Own Adventure, and other publications. Christine is the copy editor, the poetry editor, and a development editor at SAPIENS, a digital magazine that illuminates the world of anthropology for a general audience. In 2008, she was the poet-in-residence at the Gilpin County Public Library in Colorado.
Christine earned an MA in cultural anthropology and a graduate certificate in women’s studies from Colorado State University in 2005. Her research focused on South African immigrants, apartheid and post-apartheid society, ethnicity, cultural constructions of race, and gender. Christine has been on a healing journey since 2003, and for seven years was the primary caregiver and “wing mate” for her mother, Milly Weeber, during her battle-dance with cancer. She now also serves as a shamanic healing practitioner in Nederland, Colorado. |
